A full-featured villa set in the gated private rainforest Selva Escondida.

Villa Chill is located 900 feet above sea level yet 1,000 feet from the shoreline on a ridge overlooking a private orchard and then the Pacific Ocean. The views are inspiring and world-class. There's a regular breeze.

Rainforest animals, birds and butterflies surround the villa and provide plenty of photo opportunities. The orchard under Villa Chill offers fresh fruit to visitors and wildlife alike. The steep mountainous rainforest backdrop surround the villa on other sides providing security. Guided onsite hikes will take you through a pristine jungle to see what few people have the opportunity to see. Depending on the time of year, rain storms form over the ocean providing water to fill waterfalls and stream and mesmerizing light shows at night.

Yoga Retreats

Selva Escondida offers a couple of platforms for group yoga including El Manu and the Galeron. Additionally the villa has places for yoga for smaller groups.

Weddings

Villa Chill has hosted many wedding parties, and offers more than one gorgeous spots for a wedding ceremony. Local concierge services can help organize flowers, seating, altar, meals, and even a horse for the couple to ride away on.

Selva Escondida has its own trail system through a teak plantation, orchard, to a mirador or lookout, and through secondary and primary rainforests with plenty of views of flora, fauna and the ocean. The trail was designed for young children and elder folks in mind.

Visible from Villa Chill, the Whales Tail or "Cola de Ballena" looks like a whales tail during low tide. It's also where whales come during mating season. During low tide a sand bar forms to create a really neat beach experience with waves so mild, a toddler could learn to body surf.

  • The view from the house is glorious, and the animals and land so nourishing and abundant. We saw toucans, howler monkeys, bright blue butterflies, and so much other beauty. It was a joy to both spend time in the house. The kitchen is very well stocked for a large group, and to hike around the property. Highly recommended for any type of gathering or retreat.

  • Beautiful house in a quiet, remote location with spectacular views and abundant wildlife in the surrounding forest and fields. Three well appointed and well equipped structures are ample for a large group vacation. Groceries, beaches, and numerous activities are twenty or more minutes away. There are activities for all ages and most tastes.

  • A group of 8 staff from our international organization gathered here. The villa and grounds are gorgeous and obviously cared for. Each person had plenty of privacy with their own room and bathroom, and the common rooms were spacious and well-equipped. Our cook did an excellent job preparing delicious, balanced meals for our group. Each day we worked in the mornings and evenings, and spent the afternoon at a different regional beach. The local wildlife came to visit us right at the house! We saw sloths, howler monkeys, toucans, falcons, lizards and frogs, and numerous other birds in the trees nearby. We hiked some the the trails on the property and were amazed by the diversity of plant life, and the incredible views. After spending most of the week in this idyllic place, we did not want to leave! I could easily have stayed there for a month or more. The house and pool would be great for kids or family groups, too. I highly recommend staying in this beautiful place!
